Intugo, in partnership with a foreign company specializing in construction, remodeling, maintenance, and property management, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant / Bookkeeper to join its growing team.

Our partner is an established construction company with a close-knit, collaborative work environment. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, independent, and comfortable managing day-to-day accounting operations while identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks.
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), including invoicing, payment processing, and follow-ups.
Perform daily bookkeeping activities, including transaction coding, bank reconciliations, and credit card reconciliations.
Review and organize expense categories, cost codes, products, and services to improve accounting accuracy and reporting.
Monitor construction project budgets, track costs, identify discrepancies, and maintain purchase orders.
Assist with monthly profit and loss (P&L) reporting and investigate financial variances.
Support annual 1099 reporting by reviewing vendor and payment records.
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiency.
Maintain organized financial documentation and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
Communicate financial discrepancies and resolve accounting issues with minimal supervision.

Requirements

2–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a related position.
Proven experience with accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), billing, and general accounting.
Knowledge of job costing or cost accounting, preferably within construction or project-based operations.
Experience using QuickBooks or comparable accounting software, such as CONTPAQi.
Ability to independently learn and adapt to new accounting software and systems.
Professional working proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Strong attention to detail, especially when categorizing transactions and allocating project costs.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

Hands-on experience using QuickBooks.
Familiarity with Buildertrend or similar construction project management software.
Previous accounting experience in construction, remodeling, property management, or other project-based industries.
Experience improving accounting workflows, financial reporting, or bookkeeping processes.
